Theme & Objectives

The theme for National Palliative Care Week in 2009 is ‘If only I knew… Finding answers to questions that help us live and die as best we can.’

National Palliative Care Week is part of the broader National Community Education Initiative funded by the Department of Health and Ageing and managed by Palliative Care Australia. Objectives include:

  • raising awareness about palliative and end of life care
  • equipping the entire community with the information, skills and knowledge they need to make good decisions at the end of life and to support people close to them who are dealing with the problems often associated with dying, death and bereavement.

  • 2nd Annual Palliative Care WA Inc State Policy Forum – Tuesday 26 May 2009, 9:30 AM to 1 PM at South of Perth Yacht Club in Applecross

  • Premiere Perth Screening of the Documentary ‘Russ’ Story’ – Thursday 28 May 2009 at 7 PM at the Astor Cinema in Mt Lawley.
